You are beautiful just as you are

Average height, quite a few extra pounds, dark circles under my eyes…hmmmm…. I don’t think that would define me as someone beautiful especially in the mindset of today’s world.

Is our outward appearance that makes us beautiful? How can we truly define beauty?

“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

We allow ourselves to get bombarded by words and images of “so called Beauty”that leads us to believe if we are not like that, we are ugly, worthless, insufficient and not good enough.

We allow those voices to control us and we turn the volume the volume of that sweet gentle voice which is talking to us to “mute”.

We were all fearfully and wonderfully made in His image as He knitted us, created us in our mother’s womb. Each one of us in UNIQUE and BEAUTIFUL!

“14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”Psalm 139:14

Saying or believing we are not beautiful is like saying”He is not Beautiful too”because we were created in His image and likeness.

My dear friends, shut out all those negative, lying voices and listen to Him who whispers to you every single day that “You are Beautiful just as you are”

“For your royal husband delights in your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord.” Psalm 45:11

“But let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.” 1 Peter 3:4

  1. Okay, it looks like I am the token male comment for this post. Speaking for only one I will not deny physical looks may start a conversation but if a woman does not possess inner beauty it is a short one. Excellent post!

    1. Yes I agree our inner beauty is truly what counts… What we have on the inside reflects who we truly are. My desire and prayer is to reflect more and more of Jesus! Blessings my dear brother!!!

  2. So very true, and we all need this gentle reminder from time to time. Thank you for sharing. True beauty comes from within.

  3. All kinds of wonderful here, Natasha. Love this link up from Holly as I’ve come across so many beautiful posts this week. You are beautiful my friend, inside and out.
